Package: xournal
Version: 0.4.2.1-0.1
Followup-For: Bug #499037

Maybe it does not work because of this bug
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=495901 in poppler-utils.
Anyway installing xpdf-utils does not solve the problem, but installing
xpdf-reader does.
Maybe xournal should depend on xpdf-reader instead of poppler-utils (at least
as long poppler-utils does not provide the required pdftoppm).
