Okay.. alright. This explanation seems different from what I've read in the D-I documentation: http://d-i.alioth.debian.org/manual/en.i386/apbs03.html "A line can be split into multiple lines by appending a backslash (\) as the line continuation character. A good place to split a line is after the question name; a bad place is between type and value." Splitting up a value is not mentioned here, nor as good place, nor as bad place. I guess this should be listed as bad practise as well, to prevent this usage. Anyhow, thanks for the information! This explains the strange behaviour.
