Package: iceweasel
Version: 3.0.3-2
Severity: minor

- Pidgin:

If you drag-and-drop a link from iceweasel's addressbar (specifically, the
favicon image) into pidgin, you end up with a link to the page, with the
text of the link being the title of the page. If the page you are sharing
has no title, no text or link appears in the chat window.

- Nautilus desktop:

If you drag-and-drop a link from iceweasel's favicon image to the gnome
desktop;

  - If the page has a title, a link to the page is created on the desktop,
with the title of the webpage as the link's name.

  - If the page does not have a title, you are asked if you would like to
download the page, or create a link to it. If you choose to create a
link, the name of that link is a portion of the URL.

- Openoffice Writer:

If you drag-and-drop a link from iceweasel's favicon image into openoffice
writer, you don't get a link, instead you get the text:

  <a href="http://path/to/your/webpage";>http://path/to/your/webpage</a>

Not only is the html code appearing right in the office document, but the
title is not showing up, even if there is a title on the webpage.

- Iceape composer:

Whether the page has a title or not, dragging it's favicon image from
iceweasel into iceape composer results in a valid hyperlink, but it is
always the URL of the page -- the title of the page is never included as
part of the link like it is with pidgin or the nautilus/gnome desktop.

Why is it that iceweasel seems to share urls with each application
differently? The interaction with pidgin definitely seems to be a bug, since
titleless pages can't be shared with drag and drop -- yet the fact that
pidgin recieves iceweasel page titles (whereas openoffice and iceape only
seem to get urls) makes it sound like the GNOME interaction was meant to be
really full-featured. Is this a bug with iceweasel or pidgin? Is the raw
HTML appearing in openoffice a bug with iceweasel or openoffice? And why
can't iceape receive title tags from iceweasel? Aren't they almost the same
program?

  Thanks,
    Tyler
