Yep, all I need are static libraries so that I can build executables to
distribute that have some, however limited, chance of being portable
across different Linux distributions, or even other Debian workstations
that may not have all the prerequisite software installed.
OpenFabrics isn't an issue for me. We build specific executables for our
"big iron" systems that users can access. This is more about a single
workstation, or at best a few workstations connected via GigE.
