hiya,

the ability to have per-branch gbp.conf is nice, but unfortunately it
requires having a top-level file .gbp.conf. this unfortunately creates
an additional file in the diff that is not in the debian subdir, which
causes alarms by lintian and otherwise lowers the aesthetic value of
having everything else in ./debian

while it could be possible to tell debuild to ignore this file along with
.git etc, i think that a better solution would be for git-buildpackage
to look in this new location, as the configuration information might be
relevant for some persons/uses.
