Where do you see this? My version shows, that it 3.2 patchlevel 5
(Protocol 3.2).
The only 3.2.5-alpha5 I found was in the header of the reference manual.

The "rel" in 3.2.5-rel means that this is the release, not the alpha
or beta. Maybe you started some old xfig binary which isn't contained
in the 3.2.5-rel-3 package?
