Package: gtk2-engines-gtk-qt Version: 0.60-1 Request for simple enhancement.
I have long had problems getting reasonable size and looking fonts for any GTK apps running under KDE on my debian system until I stumbled upon this fantastic package. After installing it, all my GTK font problems are solved. GTK apps now look as beautiful as my KDE apps. However, it seems that this package, when installed, can not be disabled by a user option. Wouldn't it be sensible to provide a control center user option to disable this functionality so that this package could be included by default in typical KDE based distributions, but turned off by default? Then (new) users can at least immediately see that this functionality is available and can elect to activate it or not. Font issues are common amongst new linux/debian users and this package goes a long way to solving them, if only it was a standard package. Many (most/all?) distributions don't include it by default because they prefer a default light-handed font translation for gtk apps. I guess that a superior implementation than such a simple enable/disable option would be to allow the user to specify enable or disable lists of specific GTK applications. -- Mark Blakeney. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
