l.s, In our installation (kernel 2.6.11, slapd 2.1.30-3 ), we have the same problem as described in previous posts: slapd is spawned only once, when too many ldap requests appear the whole system hangs. Slapd does not function any more which results in programs not being able to start, or users able to log in. We were able to reproduce this error on multiple systems gr. Robert
