Package: file-roller
Version: 2.22.4-2
Severity: wishlist

The current "Recommends" list is highly questionable, or even arbitrary, as it
lists "arj genisoimage ncompress rpm
unace", of which at least arj, unace and rpm are of dubious usefulness on a
modern Debian system. However, when using
apt-get, all listed packages are installed in a mandatory way along with
File-roller itself.

In my opinion, a decision needs to be made regarding that "Recommends" list:
- Either the modern, more popular supported archivers (e.g. p7zip-full, lzop,
lzma) should be added to the list, with
the deprecated legacy ones (arj, unace) removed;
- or (preferably) do not recommend any of them at all, assuming that the user
will manually install whichever archivers
he mostly uses.

In any case, I'd very much prefer to at least have the Recommends list (in the
current or any future form) downgraded to
"Suggests".
