Package: nagios3 Version: 3.0.3-2 Severity: normal The nagios user's home directory is set to /var/run/nagios3, but /var/run is cleared on every boot per the FHS.
/var/run is emptied on every boot, which removes all ssh known host keys and causes subsequent check_ssh service checks to fail (the corresponding services go critical) until the remote servers' host keys are manually added to ~nagios/.ssh/known_hosts. It seems like /var/lib/nagios3 might be a better choice for the nagios user's home directory, to avoid this kind of failure mode. -- System Information: Debian Release: 4.0 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: alpha Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.18-6-alpha-smp Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US (charmap=ISO-8859-1) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
