found 499650 1.0.2-1+etch1 retitle 499650 dbus: wrong dependencies on libice6, libsm6 (and libselinux1) thanks
Hi Michael! I again cc:ed Moritz (who performed the security upload), sorry if I forgot to set M-F-T and R-T in my previous post, done now. Sorry for my previous fault, the problem is not with libx11-6, but with libice6 and libsm6: ===== [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ dpkg -s dbus [...] Version: 1.0.2-1 Replaces: libdbus0, dbus-1 Depends: libc6 (>= 2.3.6-6), libdbus-1-3 (>= 0.94), \ libexpat1 (>= 1.95.8), libx11-6, adduser, debianutils (>= 1.22.0), \ lsb-base (>= 3.1) [...] [apt-get update && apt-get upgrade] [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ dpkg -s dbus [...] Version: 1.0.2-1+etch1 Replaces: libdbus0, dbus-1 Depends: libc6 (>= 2.3.6-6), libdbus-1-3 (>= 0.94), \ libexpat1 (>= 1.95.8), libice6 (>= 1:1.0.0), libselinux1 (>= 1.32), \ libsm6, libx11-6, adduser, debianutils (>= 1.22.0), lsb-base (>= 3.1) [...] [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ ===== I don't understand why for a security update, which seems (to me) not related to any X11 library, dbus gained two more dependecies on X11 libraries (the third one, libselinux1, is less of a problem since it's Priority: required). I compiled version 1.0.2-1+etch1 through pbuilder [1] on both a clean *plain* etch chroot and a one with security-updates: both failed to include libice6, libsm6 and libselinux1. The resulted packages are available at [2]. I'm not blaming anyone and I still think that this is a minor error when the package was built, as I wrote in my first mail [3]. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
