Hi, I would like to know if #498132/#498478 will be fixed in lenny. This hal bug is particular in that it will not be visible in lenny itself. But it will prevent hal (and so network-manager) to work with wireless if kernel >= 2.6.27 are used. So any lenny users that would like to use a newer kernel (for new hardware, ...) will show this bug and will not be able to use wireless network-manager connection. An upstream patch is available and this bug is already marked pending. But I really do not know enough hal code to tell if this patch is intrusive or not. So, please maintainers of hal, look at the upstream patch and discuss with release-team about its interest to introduce it in lenny or not.
