Hi Florian,Thanks for reporting this bug. As it happens, I thought I had fixed it in version 1.1.12 of rdiff-backup, but my logic was wrong. I have now fixed it correctly in CVS, and it will be a part of version 1.2.2 and subsequent releases.
The fix I put in CVS is along the same lines as the one you used to rescue your backup.
