Hi, the story is like this: I installed debian from some disk that I had on two different laptop. The disks came with kernel 2.6.18. After installation booting was done as usual, with the usual times. After I updated to the latest kernel the booting started to take much longer, as described in the original mail. I installed grub2 and the problem went away (altough this new grub2 seems to load slower than the grub1 that came with the old debian disks). I won't pursue to installing grub1 back if you don't ask me to. From my point of view is ok to close this bug. Ask. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
