Package: hyperlatex Version: 2.8b-2 Severity: normal
/usr/bin/ps2image (used to produce bitmap files from "image" or "gif" environments when hyperlatex is called with the "-image" option) uses "pnmtogif" to generate GIFs (for "gif" environments, or when "\imagetype{gif}" is declared). However, a "pnmtogif" command is not provided by the "netpbm" package, on which hyperlatex depends (nor by any other sarge package, as far as I can see). This causes an /usr/bin/ps2image: line 52: pnmtogif: command not found error messages for every GIF to be generated during execution of the generated ".makeimage" script, and all produced ".gif" files are empty. Possible solution: using /usr/bin/ppmtogif (provided by netpbm) instead of pnmtogif seems to work... -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.4.27-speakup Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Versions of packages hyperlatex depends on: ii emacs21 [emacsen] 21.4a-1 The GNU Emacs editor ii gs 8.01-5 Transitional package ii gs-gpl [gs] 8.01-5 The GPL Ghostscript PostScript int ii netpbm 2:10.0-8 Graphics conversion tools ii xemacs21-mule [emacsen] 21.4.17-1 highly customizable text editor -- -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
