Package: open-invaders Version: 0.3-1 Severity: wishlist
The original Space Invaders ran on the Atari 2600, "powered" by a 8 bit MOS 6507 CPU @1.19MHz and 4Kb of system RAM. It was way more playable than open-invaders on a Toshiba Satellite 1800-100, "powered" by a 32 bit Celeron CPU @800MHz, 512Mb of system SDRAM and a Trident Cyberblade/i1 graphic board (trident driver). I mean, I get roughly 1fps fullscreen, less than 2 windowed. I get better performance (perfect performance) running the Space Invaders clone for DOS (written in BASIC) in the Dosbox emulator on the same notebook. Don't you also believe that a game like this should not need a brand new GPU to run smoothly? - System Information: Debian Release: 4.0 APT prefers stable APT policy: (990, 'stable'), (50, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.26.2-sheeba Locale: LANG=it_IT.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=it_IT.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages open-invaders depends on: ii libaldmb1 1:0.9.3-5 dynamic universal music bibliotheq ii liballegro4.2 2:4.2.2-2 portable library for cross-platfor ii libc6 2.7-13 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libdumb1 1:0.9.3-5 dynamic universal music bibliotheq ii libgcc1 1:4.1.1-21 GCC support library ii libstdc++6 4.3.1-2 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libx11-6 2:1.0.3-7 X11 client-side library ii libxcursor1 1.1.7-4 X cursor management library ii libxext6 1:1.0.1-2 X11 miscellaneous extension librar ii libxpm4 1:3.5.5-2 X11 pixmap library ii libxxf86vm1 1:1.0.1-2 X11 XFree86 video mode extension l ii open-invaders-data 0.3-1 Space Invaders clone (data package open-invaders recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
