Hi Daniel, The fix for this bug will not make it into Lenny as it stands right now.
Given that the current lenny package will not build at all, I believe this bug should have "Severity: serious" (according to http://www.debian.org/Bugs/Developer).
The unstable package works fine, but I think all the users of open-vm-tools would appreciate this bug being revised up to an RC severity, or a request for freeze-exception being made (which I think has to come from the maintainer).
If you decide to go the latter route, feel free to use this email as the rationale for the request. I'm more than happy to deal with any fallout in your stead. :-)
