Yes, first there's nothing technically preventing them to be co-installable, and second even if in Debian right now there's nothing using the library except for hwinfo it makes it difficult in general for future packages or current private developers, which would not be able to keep a working copy of a privately built app against the old library and try to port it to the new library at the same time. > > For the -doc package, please rename the doc-base file (matching the > > library name be good) so that they can be co-installed.
