The resize dialog presents the option to keep the original aspect ratio, but it has no effect or, rather, works in a counterintuitive way. Changing one value keeps the other the same. When trying to resize a picture, giving only the horizontal dimension, it had the effect of resizing it to the unchanged value of the vertical.
