Hi Herbert, Herbert Kaminski [2008-06-23 12:15 +0200]: > On update to cups/1.3.7-7, the option to keep the old startup script was > choosen. /ezc/init.d/cups.dpkg-new was created, together with a link from > /etc/init.d/cups to /etc/init.d/cupsys.
How do you mean? The preinst script tries to move the old /etc/init.d/cupsys to /etc/init.d/cups, it does not symlink anything. Did you set a symlink yourself? > But cupsys was deleted, so there > are now no links linke /etc/rc*.d/SXXcups, and cups is not started on boot. Weird, the symlinks in /etc/rc*.d/SXXcups -> /etc/init.d/cups shouldn't have anything to do with the actual conffile contents. Can you please give the output of ls -l /etc/init.d/cups* /etc/rc*/*cups* ? Thank you!
