This is a known bug in apt-ftparchive, which is said to be fixed with sarge. I didn't verify that, but if so, this will be fixed when we upgrade ftp-master.debian.org to sarge. Just hoping it's really fixed... keeping this bug open so that it's verified at some point this is resolved.
