Please use version numbers of real packages in the archive when reporting
bugs.

Sorry, I used reportbug, so it was the version number of my build with the debugging option and I didn't checked it.
If you enable debugging mode in the rules file with "--enable-debug"
you couldn't build pam.
This is caused by line 120 in "modules/pam_unix/passverify.c".
D(("comparing state of pp[%s] and salt[%s]", pp, salt));
The variable "salt" is undeclared.

Of course, we don't use --enable-debug in the package anyway, and turning on
this option would result in a package that isn't at all useful for
production environments. So I'm treating this as 'wishlist'.

I know, but we needed it to debug out /etc/security/group.conf, wich doesn't work any more in Lenny ("gdm;:0|:1;*;Al0000-2400;floppy,cdrom,audio,scanner,plugdev"). We had to change it to "gdm;*;*;Al0000-2400;floppy,cdrom,audio,scanner,plugdev". But for some reasons the old version works after a dist-upgrade, but not after a reinstall.
