This ECHO problem makes the resulting lexer not compile under
-D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2, which is kind of a bummer.
While I agree it'd be pretty tricky to fix it to handle fwrite errors
properly, it's easy to work around. The latest Ubuntu Intrepid flex has
this fix: <http://packages.ubuntu.com/intrepid/flex>
