Package: linux-image-2.6.26-1-mckinley
Version: 2.6.26-3
Severity: normal

linux-image-2.6.25-2-mckinley does boot normally on this platform.

The physical hardware is an HP Integrity rx3600 running HP-UX 11.23
(0712) with Integrity Virtual Machines 3.5
(http://h71028.www7.hp.com/enterprise/cache/262803-0-0-225-121.html).

The virtual machine has 2 virtual CPUs, 2 Gbytes of RAM, a virtual DVD
ROM drive, and a single 32Gbyte virtual disk drive containing the
Debian installation.

The kernel fails to start after the initrd has been loaded by ELILO. Console
output is as follows:

    [begin console output]

[end console output. No further messages after approximately 5 minutes]

When running on the linux-image-2.6.25-2-mckinley image, lspci
produces the following output:

    [begin lspci ouput]
    [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ lspci

This does not appear to be a simple case of the console not being
properly connected. A linux-image-2.6.25-2-mckinley kernel does boot
OK. If there were simply no console attached, I'd expect this machine
to have a running network in under 2 minutes. Five minutes of pinging
it with linux-image-2.6.26-1-mckinley gets no response and the host
system believes that the VM is still running the EFI, not the Linux
kernel.
