Hello Maintainer,

Normaly I am using fetchmail to get my messages sucked down to my
Intranet-Server but now, using my GSM connection I have encountered a
very grave bug.

If I connect to a IMAP server, mutt download not only the index but the
first 10 messages entirely. then when I am walking through the index
WITHOUT VIEWING any messages, mutt download each high-lighted message...

Also it download the message if I TAG them simply...

And a third time if I mark them READ

So, for some days I have used my tool tdgetimapsize and gotten

and I was interested in the account <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
because there are ONLY 25 messages but they have 16678 kByte.

OK, this account is used for my business (Debian GNU/Linux Consultant)
and I connected to this account using mutt...

So, to check this account I have produces a traffic of over 60 MByte !!!

This is VERY GRAVE and definitively not in the sens of IMAP!!!

The IMAP protocol is very clear and a IMAP client should only download
the (configurable) INDEX and only download messages IF requested (view).

Please forward this message urgently to upstream.

Note: The 16 MByte are a result of SPAM and it has cost me 0.009 €/kByte
      (~530 Euro) using my GSM-Provider e-Plus (germany)

Thanks, Greetings and nice Day/Evening
