Package: libsmbios-bin
Version: 0.13.13-1
Severity: normal

Doing a
dellBiosUpdate -u -f bios.hdr
will seem to work (kernels 2.6.25, 2.6.26 and 2.6.27-rc4)
but the bios will not be updated upon reboot, due to
the ROM image missing.

Upgrading works fine when the --force_mono switch is specified,
so perhaps this ought to be default?

The update was done using a 64-bit kernel.
