Sorry for the delay in getting back to you....I've been snowed under of late and
it's required a 1am session here, as I decided I needed to get this sorted.

I just burned the current daily ( 20-Aug-2008, 11:33, 45M
http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/daily-builds/daily/arch-latest/i386/iso-cd/debian-testing-i386-businesscard.iso
 )

...and still have no DHCP.

syslog says in a repeating fashion (note: "xxx.xxx" = removed dhcp server ip)

main-menu[1204]: (process:7363): DHCPOFFER from 192.168.xxx.xxx
main-menu[1204]: (process:7363): DHCPREQUEST on eth0 to 255.255.255.255 port 67
main-menu[1204]: (process:7363): DHCPACK from 192.168.xxx.xxx
main-menu[1204]: (process:7363):
main-menu[1204]: (process:7363): ip: RTNETLINK answers: File exists
main-menu[1204]: (process:7363): dhclient.c(2130): null pointer
main-menu[1204]: (process:7363): DHCPDECLINE on eth0 to 255.255.255.255 port 67
main-menu[1204]: (process:7363): DHCPDISCOVER on eth0 to 255.255.255.255 port 67
interval 5

...etc.
