Package: libldap2 Version: 2.1.30-8 Severity: important This seems to be related to bug 309485, but that bug says closed. I've kept my system up-to-sarge for many months now. As of last month (or so), suddenly apache2 stopped working with the message:
/usr/sbin/apache2: error while loading shared libraries: libldap.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory That file is a symlink created by libldap2, which was installed. Simply reinstalling it solved the problem: silver:~# dpkg -l libldap2 [...] ii libldap2 2.1.30-8 OpenLDAP libraries silver:~# apt-get install --reinstall libldap2 [...] silver:~# ls -l /usr/lib/libldap.so.2 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 14 Jun 7 11:07 /usr/lib/libldap.so.2 -> libldap_r.so.2 I don't know what exactly caused the problem, but I thought this was important -- a woody-sarge upgrade should be tested! -- System Information Debian Release: 3.1 Kernel Version: Linux silver.zorzella.com 2.6.8-2-686 #1 Mon Jan 24 03:58:38 EST 2005 i686 GNU/Linux Versions of the packages libldap2 depends on: ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-22 GNU C Library: Shared libraries and Timezone ii libgnutls11 1.0.16-13.1 GNU TLS library - runtime library ii libsasl2 2.1.19-1.5 Authentication abstraction library -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
