Hello git-python people,

I've been meaning to introduce myself for a while now.  I'm the Debian
maintainer of python-git (as it is named in Debian).

I've been waiting for a while to introduce myself, as I didn't have
anything useful to contribute.  However, I've worked up a patch to fix
Josh's problem, which is attached.
