For the record, set failglob is useless with bash. See: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ set failglob [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ echo sdf*sdf sdf*sdf You should use shopt -s failglob This does not make freecol fail. However, $@ seems to contain the last argument to given set, for some reason that escapes me. I'm now sure that this is a bash bug.
