Package: davical Severity: normal Tags: l10n The current layout of the po/ directory (upstream translations) is quite unusual and leads to unused translations and wrong statistics for translated messages:
- the "messages.po" file that holds up the messages to translate is indeed a "Portable Object *Template*" files and the general agreement is to use .pot as fiel extension for these. - all PO files are used locale-like naming scheme which will shrink the potential use of the translations: for instance, users of the fr_CA locale (French in Canada) will not benefit from the French translations done by a French translator as these translations are available as fr_FR.po --> I suggest the following renaming: de_DE.po --> de.po en_NZ.po --> should be removed (does not carry translations anyway) es_AR.po, es_ES.po and es_MX.po are identical: keep one of them under the generic es.po name fr_FR.po --> fr.po hu_HU.po --> hu.po ja_JP.po --> ja.po nl_NL.po --> nl.po ru_RU.po --> ru.po -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.25-2-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
