Cool. Thanks for the tip. However, nocrt didn't work at the kernel command line. Searching revealed that this is a thermal module parameter. Either pass "thermal.nocrt=1" to the kernel (not tested) or add "options thermal nocrt=1" to /etc/modprobe.d/local.
