What graphics adapter do you have? According to http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=488144 and http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=16453quirks for Intel graphics cards are still needed. For the other cases, pm-utils will filter out any quirks, so no changes to the fdi files are necessary (see /usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/98smart-kernel-video)
