Uh, no, sorry.
The old firmware still works with 2.6.25 (I have a AP extreme on my Mac
mini working with it)

Yes, if you find a proper solution on how I detect the old firmware and
can then get and download the new one. I don't want to just
unconditionally extract the firmware on the upgrade (and you can't check
for uname -r's outout anyway, because at dist-upgrade time it's still
the old kernel which is running)

I still need to find a proper solution (and I don't currently have that
much time...)
