Package: tea
Version: 9.0-1
Followup-For: Bug #311303

Doing strace on tea show these lines:
open("/usr/share/locale/fr_FR.UTF-8/LC_MESSAGES/tea.mo", O_RDONLY) = -1 ENOENT
(No such file or directory)
open("/usr/share/locale/fr_FR.utf8/LC_MESSAGES/tea.mo", O_RDONLY) = -1 ENOENT
(No such file or directory)
open("/usr/share/locale/fr_FR/LC_MESSAGES/tea.mo", O_RDONLY) = -1 ENOENT (No
such file or directory)
open("/usr/share/locale/fr.UTF-8/LC_MESSAGES/tea.mo", O_RDONLY) = -1 ENOENT (No
such file or directory)
open("/usr/share/locale/fr.utf8/LC_MESSAGES/tea.mo", O_RDONLY) = -1 ENOENT (No
such file or directory)
open("/usr/share/locale/fr/LC_MESSAGES/tea.mo", O_RDONLY) = -1 ENOENT (No such
file or directory)

The reason you can't change you interface lang is that the tea binary (teaed)
looks for tea.mo instead of teaed.mo which the package gives.
