I insert the documentation CD for my laptop and I get this:
heidi:~# dmesg | grep -i udf
UDF-fs: Partition marked readonly; forcing readonly mount
UDF-fs INFO UDF 0.9.8.1 (2004/29/09) Mounting volume 'G71-NDW5056_V2.0', timestamp 2007/12/28 03:27
(10b4)
heidi:~# mount | grep cdrom
/dev/scd0 on /media/cdrom0 type udf (ro,noexec,nosuid,nodev,user=eddy)
heidi:~# ls -l /media/
total 2
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 6 2008-07-29 10:12 cdrom -> cdrom0
drw-rw-rw- 9 4294967295 4294967295 940 2007-12-28 02:26 cdrom0
Needless to say that the CD is not usable.
heidi:~# grep cdrom /etc/fstab
/dev/scd0 /media/cdrom0 udf,iso9660 user,noauto 0 0
