Package: kvm Version: 70+dfsg-1 Severity: important There seems to be a bug in kvm >=70 that prevents it from PXE booting with e1000. I.E. using "-net,nic,model=e1000 -net tap -boot n". By watching the DHCP server and tracing the traffic the DHCPREQUEST and DHCPOFFER can be seen. However, it looks like KVM never receives the DHCPOFFER and it just continues to display "No IP address" I.E.:
Searching for server (DHCP)....No IP address .No IP address .No IP address Reverting back to 69 resolves the issue. There is mention of this bug in the upstream kvm vger archives.
