Hi Kel,
Please test/consider the below backports for one of the upcoming
stable
updates. Michael if you could test them that would help alot, i've
not able to
test the driver, on etch, with supported hardware, have only been
able to
ensure it is compiling in etch with Linux 2.6.18 and 2.6.24.
thanks for your fast work. When I tried to auto-install this, I got:
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of madwifi-
modules-2.6.24-etchnhalf.1-486:
madwifi-modules-2.6.24-etchnhalf.1-486 depends on madwifi-tools (>=
1:0.9.2+dfsg-1etch1); however:
Version of madwifi-tools on system is 1:0.9.2+dfsg-1.
So I tried
dpkg -i --force-depends-version /usr/src/madwifi-modules-2.6.24-
etchnhalf.1-486_0.9.4-1~etchnhalf.1+2.6.24-6~etchnhalf.4_i386.deb
and rebooted after adding ath5k to my blacklist. I didn't even need
to stick an ethernet or null modem cable into my router, it just came
right back up with 2.6.24 and working wireless.
For reference, I have an AR5212-based MiniPCI card (PCI Device ID
168c:001a).
Thanks again for this quick response, and I hope this can make it
into etchnhalf!
Regards,
Michael
