Package: smartmontools Version: 5.38-1 There is not even any mention of SATA drive configurations in /etc/smartd.conf. This file appears to be old and crusty. I used the stanzas for 3ware controllers as a template for a 3ware SATA array controller and summarily received the following error message after restarting smartmontools:
