Package: apt-listchanges Version: 2.82 Severity: normal During the last update linux-source-2.6.25 version 2.6.25-7 got installed, however apt-listchanges only did display the changelog for linux-2.6 up to 2.6.25-6.
I'm not sure why it did so, the changelog does not look special, my guess is that it took the changelog from one of the other packages built from linux-2.6 that were only at 2.6.25-6: # egrep '^2008-07-17.*upgrade.*2\.6\.25' /var/log/dpkg.log 2008-07-17 23:04:54 upgrade linux-libc-dev 2.6.25-5 2.6.25-6 2008-07-17 23:04:54 upgrade linux-manual-2.6.25 2.6.25-6 2.6.25-7 2008-07-17 23:04:55 upgrade linux-source-2.6.25 2.6.25-6 2.6.25-7 2008-07-17 23:06:03 upgrade linux-libc-dev-powerpc-cross 2.6.25-5 2.6.25-6 If that is indeed the problem, apt-listchanges should instead pick (one of) the binary package(s) having the largest version number to acquire the changelog from. elmar -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.25 (SMP w/2 CPU cores; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages apt-listchanges depends on: ii apt 0.7.14+b1 Advanced front-end for dpkg ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.22 Debian configuration management sy ii debianutils 2.30 Miscellaneous utilities specific t ii python 2.5.2-1 An interactive high-level object-o ii python-apt 0.7.6 Python interface to libapt-pkg ii python-support 0.8.4 automated rebuilding support for P ii ucf 3.007 Update Configuration File: preserv Versions of packages apt-listchanges recommends: ii exim4 4.69-5 meta-package to ease Exim MTA (v4) ii exim4-daemon-light [mail-tran 4.69-5+b1 lightweight Exim MTA (v4) daemon -- debconf information: * apt-listchanges/confirm: true * apt-listchanges/email-address: * apt-listchanges/which: both * apt-listchanges/frontend: pager * apt-listchanges/overwrite_etc_apt_listchanges_conf: true * apt-listchanges/save-seen: true -- .'"`. /"\ | :' : Elmar Hoffmann <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> ASCII Ribbon Campaign \ / `. `' GPG key available via pgp.net against HTML email X `- & vCards / \ -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
