Package: mutt Version: 1.5.18-2 Severity: normal Hello,
The count of new messages in the folder overview seems to be fundamentally broken, at least for IMAP folders. I believe that the issue is related to bugs #428734 and #432148. But as you closed #428734 with the upload of mutt 1.5.16-3, and #432148 is somewhat different, I decided to open a new bugreport. I also have to admit that the bug exists since a long long time, and I don't know whether the new message count worked as expected once at all. When I browse the folder-overview with 'y' or with a macro defined as '<change-folder>?<tab>', I get the list of all mailboxes defined in my muttrc, but the count of new messages is always 0 for remote IMAP folders, and for local Maildir folders I don't even get a count at all: 1 0 imaps://imapserver/INBOX/admin 2 0 imaps://imapserver/INBOX/caughtspam 3 0 imaps://imapserver/INBOX/jonas 4 0 imaps://imapserver/INBOX/list.debian.alioth.pkg.python 5 0 imaps://imapserver/INBOX/list.debian.devel 6 0 imaps://imapserver/INBOX/list.debian.private [...] 22 0 imaps://imapserver/INBOX/postponed 23 0 imaps://imapserver/INBOX/send 24 drwx------ 5 jonas jonas 4.0K Feb 27 2006 ~/Maildir/ Additionally, the buffy-list feature sometimes doesn't work correctly. It usually prints a list of all folders containing new mail, but sometimes it only prints some of the folders with new mail. This is very annoying, as I have to go through all folders to check for new mail if I can rely neither on buffy-list nor on the new message count in the folder overview. The imap server is running courier-imap(-ssl) 4.1.1.20060828-5 on debian/etch. If you need any additional information, or if you want me to do further debugging steps, pleas let me know. I also can send you a stripped down version of my .muttrc (without the personal parts). greetings, jonas -- Package-specific info: Mutt 1.5.18 (2008-05-17) Copyright (C) 1996-2008 Michael R.
