The patch works for me (in the setup with radeon driver as described in
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=480231). In particular,
xscreensaver survives through adding and removal of monitors (laptop LCD
plus an external LCD monitor), and all the screens are blanked when
blanking/locking command is issued.

For some reason, actual locking doesn't seem to happen. I see:
----
xscreensaver: 15:44:53: pam_start ("xscreensaver", "novakyu", ...) ==> 0
(Success)
xscreensaver: 15:44:53:   pam_set_item (p, PAM_TTY, ":0.0") ==> 0 (Success)
xscreensaver: 15:44:53:   pam_authenticate (...) ...
xscreensaver: 15:44:53:   pam_authenticate (...) ==> 0 (Success)
xscreensaver: 15:44:53:   pam_acct_mgmt (...) ==> 9 (Authentication service
cannot retrieve authentication info)
xscreensaver: 15:44:53:   pam_setcred (...) ==> 0 (Success)
xscreensaver: 15:44:53: pam_end (...) ==> 0 (Success)
----

But perhaps this is some sort of conflict with the previous version of
xscreensaver that was installed (I did remove all Debian xscreensaver
packages prior to compiling and installing xscreensaver from
xscreensaver_5.05.orig.tar.gz and xscreensaver-randr-patch-3.txt, but I
forgot to kill the xscreensaver instance before installing the new one)

I'll report back if after logging out and back in, xscreensaver still
doesn't lock.

Regards,

Andrzej
