Hello there,
since a few days (can't trace the moment for sure, sorry) I can't listen
to
last.fm streams when I'm connected (wired) using a static IP. When I
click on a
stream I get the error "No network connection detected".
Interestingly, other software behaves similarily (Evolution and Liferea
start in Offline mode), but they have buttons to go in "online mode".
Banshee just refuses to play.
Now, some quick googling shows that this issue is probably triggered by
the
fact that when using static IP, network-manager is overridden and
reports no
network connection, so one might argue that this is a NM bug, but
Banshee
sure could have some more common sense and let the user decide if a
network
connection is actually present or not.
This, or packaging NM-0.7 in experimental, that should handle static
IPs.
