Hi John! I cc:ed the Debian Common Lisp Team [1], since the CL development on Debian is discussed there, please keep it (obviously together with the bug report). I also cc:ed Milan Zamazal, since I'm not sure he's subscribed to the bug or list.

I'm aware of that and the delay is principally due to the fact that I'm the only active DD for most of the packages maintained by the Debian Common Lisp Team [1][2]. Since there are some other packages that require a bit more attention (hint: clisp, cmucl and ecl to say some), I put StumpWM aside for a while. > Many users run into bugs that have long since been fixed and we have > to ask them to get the latest release or pull from the git repo and > compile it themselves. FWIW, I'm not going to provide a compiled StumpWM, but I'll keep the situation like it's now, i.e. Debian will distribute the CL sources and then /usr/bin/stumpwm [3] will load it through your preferred CL implementation (cmucl, clisp or sbcl). BTW, I strongly suggests to report Debian bugs to the Debian BTS... > The latest release is considerably more stable as well. At least on my machine the Debian package is really stable on clisp ;-) On Fri, 04 Jul 2008 11:12:09 +0200, Milan Zamazal wrote: > FWIW, I use 0.9.2, packaged in a Q&D way using the current stumpwm > debian files, for months without problems. The "problem" is not updating it, but instead really understand the best way to maintain a Debian package with git when upstream is also using git. Until now, I haven't found an exhaustive documentation yet. And I'd like to preserve the darcs history as well... Anyway, now I switched to today git checkout [4] and I'll test it until the next week: if no big problems will arise, I'll package this version (or maybe even a more recent one) before the end of the month. Thx, bye, Gismo / Luca Footnotes: [1] http://pkg-common-lisp.alioth.debian.org [2] except SBCL, thanks to Thiemo Seufer [3] http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=356948#49 [4] I created a fake stumpwm/version.lisp to avoid compilation
