Great, thanks Ola.
For the sake of completeness, (so fans of other ftpd's don't feel
neglected), I've checked on the features of other ftp daemons. Muddleftpd
claims that "Modules for SMB, MySQL and MUD authentication included in the
package". This seems to be the same reason harden-servers doesn't conflict
proftpd-ldap, proftpd-mysql and proftpd-pgsql. Also, arguably oftpd is also
secure as it's totally anonymous and one doesn't send real passwords in
cleartext.
I haven't done an exhaustive study of the implications of using these ftp
daemons so I'll leave this to your discretion.
As for sarge, a month ago it was scheduled for release for yesterday
anyway... but it's time we start thinking about etch I guess
Regards,
Vassil
