Package: maxima Version: 5.13.0-3.1 Severity: normal
It seems that any describe that actually works yields Universal error handler called recursively (:ERROR NIL CONDITIONS::CLCS-UNIVERSAL-ERROR-HANDLER "" "Couldn't protect") Universal error handler called recursively (:ERROR NIL CONDITIONS::CLCS-UNIVERSAL-ERROR-HANDLER "" "Couldn't protect") Maxima encountered a Lisp error: Error in CONDITIONS::CLCS-UNIVERSAL-ERROR-HANDLER [or a callee]: Caught fatal error [memory may be damaged] Automatically continuing. To reenable the Lisp debugger set *debugger-hook* to nil. a second describe terminates maxima with a segmentation fault. This seemed like a corrupted install kind of problem, so I purged and reinstalled. It seems the same. It seems to be specific to describe. I can do e.g. integrate(x^2,x,0,1) after the describe and it works ok. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.25-trunk-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_CA.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_CA.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages maxima depends on: ii gnuplot-nox 4.2.2-1 A command-line driven interactive ii libc6 2.7-12 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libgmp3c2 2:4.2.2+dfsg-3 Multiprecision arithmetic library ii libice6 2:1.0.4-1 X11 Inter-Client Exchange library ii libncurses5 5.6+20080531-1 Shared libraries for terminal hand ii libreadline5 5.2-3 GNU readline and history libraries ii libsm6 2:1.0.3-1+b1 X11 Session Management library ii libx11-6 2:1.1.4-2 X11 client-side library ii libxaw7 2:1.0.4-2 X11 Athena Widget library ii libxext6 2:1.0.4-1 X11 miscellaneous extension librar ii libxmu6 2:1.0.4-1 X11 miscellaneous utility library ii libxt6 1:1.0.5-3 X11 toolkit intrinsics library Versions of packages maxima recommends: ii gv 1:3.6.4-3 PostScript and PDF viewer for X ii maxima-share 5.13.0-3.1 A computer algebra system -- extra -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
