Package: libsdl1.2debian-pulseaudio Version: 1.2.13-2 Severity: minor
Hi, SDL programs seem to suffer from continuous crackles in their sound stream with SDL's PulseAudio backend. From my (uneducated) point of view, these sound like buffer underruns. Scouring the PulseAudio maintainer's site, I found something relevant at <http://0pointer.de/blog/projects/pa-plugin-for-sdl.html>. I've added the patch downloaded from the linked page, rebuilt my libsdl1.2debian* packages, and I can confirm the sound quality is much better[*] (even though it's still far from great: Crackles are still present, albeit less noticeable). I would thus like the aforementioned patch to be added to the next version of this package. [*] Actually, I also rebuilt without SVGAlib support (because I don't need SVGAlib and the SDL packages don't even give me the opportunity to substitute the GGI SVGAlib wrapper) and AAlib (because pbuilder had trouble with package dependencies). I do not think these changes had anything to do with the subject matter at hand, but I thought I'd mention them nonetheless.
