Please try to remove libnss-ldap and libpam-ldap from your machine. If you
have a bad configuration in one of these services, it could explain
the slowness of some NSS lookup operations (which in turn would slow down
dpkg).
And if that's the case, it's not at all a dpkg problem but a
user-configuration problem...
