Hi, I've had time to test this. Before applying the patch, offlineimap SEEMS to delete mail on the IMAP server correctly. However, on the next run offlineimap downloads all the (theoretically expunged) mail again. After applying my patch, I successfully deleted three messages from the local folder corresponding to "[Google Mail]/Sent Mail", and a subsequent run of offlineimap DID NOT cause those mails to be re-downloaded. In other words, expunging mail only works FOR ME if my patch is applied. > I still see my Gmail special folders under the "[Gmail]/" hierarchy, > no change. > > Could the special folder name be an account-related setting? > (Depending, maybe on the date you enabled IMAP support?) I don't know. Maybe we could/should ask other gmail imap users? It might be that, because I'm in Australia, I'm accessing an older version of the gmail server software (cf. http://google.com.au/search has historically been an older release than http://google.com/search; likewise for google groups). > Shall we make this a configurable parameter? >From the sample space of two users (Riccardo and I), there are two different folder structures.
