The cause of random windows may be due to incorrect titles. I've attached 3 snapshots of the FvwmWinList.
The first one (buttons1.png) shows what I got just after starting FVWM: * FvwmButtons * xterm * xterm All of them are incorrect. Note that "xterm" is the initial title of my xterms, but the title is changed by my shell, so that it is no longer "xterm". When I clicked on the second button, the FvwmPager was iconified, and when I clicked a second time, it reappeared. And I got (see buttons2.png): * FvwmButtons * Desk 0 * xterm The third button corresponded in fact to FvwmWinList.
